Happy 4th of July!!!

The girls and I went to the parade today with the Johanknecht family - Kelly, Hank, Riley, Bryson, Kathy and Jesse and we all had a great time! The weather wasn't particularly awesome but it wasn't too cold, and it stopped raining so it turned out just fine!

The girls had so much fun waving their flags and dancing along with all the floats!

Avery especially loved the float with all the drag queens - she was dancing like crazy!

Avery also spent quite a bit of time with Jesse and Grandma Kathy, making sure they had a flag and were waving when appropriate.

Ella and Riley LOVED all the beauty queens, or "winners" as they called them. Ella also enjoyed the marching shirtless Samoans, she demonstrated her hula moves for them.

Even Bryson had a good time, although he was more interested in trying to get into the puddles in the gutter than watching the parade, he did get a few good waves in.

All in all it was a good parade - there was a sad lack of tractors, something I miss from Iowa parades, but there was an ENORMOUS gun in the parade. Something you might find only in Alaska or third world countries.

Near the end of the parade the girls got a little restless so they played chase, or tag, or some other nameless but very fun game involving a lot of running and laughing.

They even got Uncle Hank to join in the fun!

After all the chasing and parade fun was over we went over to Kathy and Jesse's for lunch and even more playing and fun. Avery and Bryson appear to have settled their dispute from yesterday (where Bryson attempted to demonstrate is overwhelming love for Avery by grabbing her and pulling her hair) and they played really nicely together. Avery kept handing him toys and saying "here go baby, here go baby" So cute!!!

It was a fun and exhausting morning, the girls are both sleeping as I type.
